You once lived here. Maybe it was a place of refuge, maybe one of torment, maybe it was just one of the many places you passed through, but something about this house hooked you, so that you lingered even after death. You are ghost that haunts this place, sending a fragment of your memory across the gulf that separates the dead from the living.

"When I lived here..." is a play-by-mail storytelling game for 4-6 players about several generations of ghosts in a single house. Each player contributes a brief recollection of their life in the house, one-by-one building a fragmentary history of the house and the lives lived there.

Just received the final letter and I am in awe with the end product. It is so interesting to see what the other ghosts wrote. Also I appreciate this beeing a game where you only contribute once and with the possibility to keep it quite short and simple.

This was meant to be a warm up game to another game, but I think everyone (especially me) understimated how long it can take to write and to send a letter.
I think overall it was 3 month for the game to be finished, and I would say we were quite consistent in checking where the game is and who is next. I am really glad I could experience this, would definetly play again.
